Veterinary Team

Dr Adele Fitzpatrick BSc(Hons) BVSc MRCVS

Director and Veterinary Surgeon

I am a holistic veterinarian with over 11 years’ experience in companion animal care, I take an integrative approach to animal health. I believe true preventative care lies within biologically appropriate feeding, responsible vaccination and worming protocols and limiting drug use by using ancillary treatments such as laser therapy, acupuncture, and herbal medicine. I am passionate about helping owners make educated choices about their pet’s diet and medical treatment so they can enjoy a long and healthy life together. I hope to make herbal vet care and other therapies available to Glasgow and Scotland. I have a special interest in Brachycephalic breeds such as Bulldogs, French Bulldogs and Pugs. A lot of my clinical time is devoted to breed specific conditions and procedures. I am committed to improve the health of these breeds through health testing and education. I am currently studying for a certificate in veterinary herbal medicine!

Dr Melanie Nash BVMS MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

I joined the practice as a student on placement, studying at the University of Glasgow and they have not been able to get rid of me! You will recognise me by my American accent, curly hair and signature flannel shirt. I have a great interest in surgery and hope to specialise in it in the future. When I am not in the clinic, I am at home with my fiancé and three rescue dogs: Queenie a British bulldog, Captain an American Bulldog and, of course, Taco a cleft palate Frenchie!

Dr Emma Kinney MRCVS

Hi everyone, I’m Emma and I graduated in 2015 from The University of Glasgow. After qualifying, I moved down south to the North West of England where I worked in various practices around the Lancashire area. I enjoy all aspects of my job but have a special interest in Internal Medicine. Currently I am undertaking an Advanced Practitioner certificate with the University of Liverpool in Small Animal Medicine which I am really enjoying. After having my little girl, Ellie, in January 2020 however, Glasgow called me back home and I made the move back north-complete with a whole new family! Alongside a crazy toddler, I live with my fiancé Craig, our wild but very friendly three-year-old Border Terrier, Matilda, and our very vain but equally friendly 11-year-old Birman cat, Bramble. Our house is certainly never boring! I am very excited to have recently joined the team at The Natural Vet and am really looking forward to meeting all of the lovely pets and their owners!

Dr Georgia Freeman-Mills MRCVS

Hello everyone! My name is Georgia and I recently graduated from Edinburgh vet school. I’m really excited about working at The Natural Vet and getting to know our lovely clients and all their pets. I love everything about working with small animals, especially watching dogs and cats grow up under the care of their owners and seeing how much they enrich all of our lives. I’m also particularly interested in working with our feline friends and expanding my knowledge of feline medicine. I’ve just moved to Glasgow and I am loving exploring the city and everything it has to offer. I am currently trying to resist the temptation to get a dog to accompany me on lots of walks and runs on my days off, so watch this space!

Anita Tabaton

Registered Veterinary Nurse

I am a newly qualified veterinary nurse and have chosen to start my career at The Natural Vet! I love meeting new patients and clients and making sure that our patients receive the best care while they are with us. I have a love for dogs and hope to understand and communicate with them better by working towards a certificate in canine behaviour. Outside of work I can be found cooking, visiting my niece and nephew and walking my bulldog Suki along the South Ayrshire coastline!

Mellissa Muir

Veterinary Care Assistant

My name is Mellissa. I'm a veterinary care assistant. I have been a part of the family since September 2018. I have been in the animal industry since I was 18 and I have experience working in emergency and critical care. I have three dogs called Laurel, Harvey and Daphne. Laurel is a cross breed, Harvey is a German short haired pointer and Daphne is a Miniature Daschund. I love working with such a great team of people and we have the nicest clients and fur babies to look after!

Erin Lundie

Animal Care Assistant

Hi, I’m Erin, I am a trainee veterinary nurse. Every day is rewarding in its own way and having such a great team that keep you laughing helps! I love coming home to my senior fur baby Cara, a staffie/ jack Russell cross and I know she is always in the best hands if she isn’t feeling her usual quirky self!

FRONT OF HOUSE

Kathryn Johnston

Manager

Hi, my names Kathryn. I’m the manager at The Natural Vet and proud owner of Bella & Bertie, the Frenchie sibling duo that first led me to find The Natural Vet! I recently graduated from GCU with a degree in finance, investment & risk, and have been working at the practice since 2018. I love being able to work with our clients, pets and staff in order to make sure each dog we see through our door is treated like our own. Working at The Natural Vet means I get to do what I love every day, and throughout my time so far, I have learned so much. Developing my knowledge of canine behaviour, raw food nutrition and management are my key focuses, as well as being able to manage an incredible team of staff who go above and beyond in every aspect of their jobs to make The Natural Vet a completely unique experience for pet owners!

Clare Coyne

Receptionist

Hi, I am Clare. The best thing about working at The Natural Vet is meeting all the beautiful pets that come into reception whether it be dogs, puppies, cats or even rats! Forming a bond with all our patients is so rewarding. I love being able to help and assist our clients over the phone and in person.

Emily Rattray

Receptionist

I'm Emily, a receptionist at The Natural Vet. I love working here because it's so great to see the journey of animals getting back to their old self after being unwell! I want to work with animals because they're so loyal and loving, they deserve for people to be the same back to them especially when it comes to their welfare! I have two staffies - Poppy and Honey and two rabbits - Otis and Opal all who I love more than life! I spend some of my spare time volunteering with Dogs Trust and Guide Dogs and the rest with my friends or cuddling my pets.

Katie Murray

Receptionist

Hello! I’m Katie and I’m part of the receptionist team at The Natural Vet. Working with animals has always been a passion of mine from a young age as they really helped me when I was struggling with anxiety. I feel incredibly lucky to be giving back to them for what they helped me through and working with a fantastic team at The Natural Vet is even better. I have a cheeky 6-year-old Cocker Spaniel called Murph and he is the love of my life! You can always find him eating Bonios or howling along with the music when the Ice Cream Van is near.  When I’m not working, I enjoy going out running through Glasgow or drawing in my flat whilst binge watching Grey’s Anatomy!

Sydney Sneed

Receptionist

My name is Sydney, my passion has always been the happiness and welfare of animals, so it is only fitting that I work with them! I love meeting all of the patients and helping them in any way I can. My own fur babies, Pip and Penelope, really enjoy coming to work with me. Pip cannot get in the door fast enough to see all of his friends in day care. Outside of work, I keep myself busy by going on long dog walks/adventures, designing art, and reading.

DAY CARE

Stacey Lorimer

Day Care Manager

Hi, I’m Stacey, I have always been passionate about working with animals, and so have spent my adult life pursuing that dream. After gaining a degree in Zoology, I found myself wanting a job where I could work more closely with animals, rather than simply study them. That’s when, 18 months ago, I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to join the Vet Creche Day Care team (after first falling in love with the business as a client).

I absolutely love coming to work, starting each day being greeted by all our dog’s beautiful, happy faces! One of my favourite parts of working in day care is getting to know and love so many different dogs and watching their little personalities shine! I really enjoy that every day in day care is different and I love working alongside a brilliant team who support each other and help each other learn and grow.

I’m joined in day care most days by my very own fur-babies, Merida a cockapoo, and Morag a Lhasa Apso. I have a particular soft spot for our doodles (my day care nickname is “the cockapoo lady”).

Creche Assistants

Karen Graham

Creche Assistant

Hi, I’m Karen I started off as a home-boarder alongside my day job as I love dogs but hadn’t found the right time to have my own. I loved it so much I left my job to join the day care team and eventually got my own little French Bulldog Peggy. Every day is an adventure with our 4-legged friends!

Michaela Muir

Creche Assistant

Hi, my name is Michaela. I have worked in day care since 2019. I love coming to work with such a huge mix of breeds. I particularly love the high energy breeds such as Labs, Vizslas, Pointers and the crazy Terriers! My favourite part of my job is seeing them come through the doors excited to come in and play with their wee friends! The friendship we build and the trust they have in us is the most rewarding part of our job, especially if they started out as wee nervous puppers!

I have two dogs of my own. Harvey who is an 11 year old Pointer and Laurel who is an 8 year old Pointer cross. I also have a 5 year old wee tabby cat called Mia who I adopted when she was 3 years old. Its cliché to say but they are my babies!

Agata Krakowiak

Creche Assistant

Hi, I’m Agata. I am a student and sometimes student life can be stressful but my work balances it out, when I walk into Vet Creche day care I feel happy and motivated! I love all the dogs I work with; they have helped me to learn about different breeds of dog and their behaviours. Every dog in day care is different and they have their own personalities which makes every day at work funny and special! I have two dogs, a French bulldog Winnie and a Pug Toffe who I spoil rotten!

Paul Jollie

Creche Assistant

Hi, I’m Paul, I absolutely love coming in to work because I get the chance to interact with so many different breeds. I have a soft spot for rescue dogs and volunteer for The Edward Foundation who have an excellent working relationship with The Natural Vet. I own pugs and a bulldog so have a lot of experience with brachycephalic breeds but working in day care you fall in love with a different breed every day. When I’m not working, I love taking my own dogs long walks at the weekend and taking them into dog friendly cafes and restaurants.

Demi Lea Tweedie

Creche Assistant

Hi, my name is Demi and I am a crèche assistant. Working with animals has always been a passion of mine and at The Natural Vet this is no exception! Working with different breeds and watching them grow and build confidence within day care is so rewarding. The most exciting thing about working in day care is you never get two days which are the same. In the morning I love to watch who is running through the door so excited about coming in, also the unlikely bonds that are formed with different dogs is fascinating. My favourite breed to work with must be French Bulldogs, they may be small but have the biggest personalities with so much love to give. I have my own little dog named Lola who is completely spoiled alongside my daughters. When I'm not working, I love to take them to our local park.

Gillian Mitchell

Creche Assistant

Hi, I am Gillian. I have worked with dogs pretty much my whole working life including many years working in rescue helping to rehabilitate and rehome dogs. I have only ever used positive training methods and enjoy doing all sorts of different and fun training with the dogs. I very much enjoy taking care of all your much-loved pets that come to day care. I especially enjoy taking the time to get to know some of the more shy and nervous dogs and bringing out their cheeky personalities. I have a beagle called Kody so have a fondness for mischievous hounds, but really, I love all dogs!
